This is a question for all the lurkers and regulars in this newsgroup alike...now that it's just been announced by NBC that Seinfeld will do one MORE season beyond the current one (and wrap up production in May of 1998) what should the gang do in their farewell year? How will Jerry finally end it when he does end it 18 months from now?
We know what Julia Louis-Dreyfus has suggested (having
an episode in which they all finally put their lives together, then
get wiped out by a runaway fuel truck while they're heading out
to dinner). We know what other long-running hit series do...
wrap up with a well-crafted episode that ties up a few loose
ends but doesn't really END the series per se, just leaves the
impression that life will go on for the characters the way it
always has (cf. Cheers). That kind of ending, in which you don't
even get the sense of an ending as such, is great for the con-
tinuing popularity of a series in syndication years after it goes
out of original production. It's a likely end for Seinfeld too.
But what SHOULD he do? The question is yours...I'll be
running an ongoing little listener poll on the air on my radio
show, and some of the best responses I get here will be inclu-
ded as well. Does Jerry finally settle down? Does Elaine?
Does Kramer get a clue, and George finally get a life? Let's
