Does anyone remember which episode this was in? What were the surrounding threads? Was the "where's my FIANCE" episode part of this?

The Dingo is a wild dog of Australia. The movie was released in the states as Evil Angels, about a baby (Azaria Chamberlain) who was taken from a tent at Ayers Rock in central Australia. A huge court case ensued, firstly with the mother being charged with murder, then subsequently having the conviction quashed and released from jail. I believe it was called "A Cry in the Dark" here in the States. (I assume you meant the United States.)

mediaone as a news server has been 'acting up' for at least 10 days in this particular episodic fit. There is at least an eight to ten hour delay on almost all newsgroup posts. according to all sources i consulted they all describe the dingo as a dog,in fact the common ancestor of the 600 breeds of dogs we know today.i was wrong.apologies.

It's just a dog people - The reference is to the Azaria Chamberlain case where a baby was taken by a Dingo in outback Australia and the parents were in court for many years accused of the murder.

Elaine's line was very funny if you live here (Australia)....

I've noticed the one adjective that pops up over and over when dingos are referred to online is "wolflike" so it's not like you're *totally* wrong. :-)

I believe this was the episode "The Stranded" with guest Micheal Chiklis. Jerry and Elaine get dragged to a party on Long Island with George. he leaves them there because a girl he's had his eye on wants to go home with him and Kramer is summoned to pick them up.
