Fans discuss whether The Puerto Rican Day episode has aired in syndication, with some claiming they haven't seen it while others note it's rarely broadcast.

I don't think I saw it on TV until 2003 or 2004. It's not on much.

I must have watched both re-run time slots for a few years and I maybe saw it twice. They seemed to rerun the shows from 1992 - 1996 the most. I flew across country one time and the same shows were on at home as in another time zone. Go figure! I didn't see the Bookman episode much either.

It was originally shown on 7 May 98. Then NBC agreed not to replay it. But it has been shown in syndication many times. A very poor episode, in my opinion, and no great loss.
Since there are 180 half hour syndicated episodes you would expect any one to be shown once every 36 weeks, or only once or twice every year. So it is not unusual that a person would have missed seeing one specific episode.

That assumes that you only have available to you one syndicated episode per day for five days per week.
In the DC/Baltimore area, two local channels show different episodes at 6:00 PM, then one each at 6:30 and 7:00 PM, then a repeat of the 7:00 PM on a different channel at 7:30 PM. They used to also show one episode at 10:00 PM, but recently scrubbed that. Then TBS also used to show episodes, sometimes two hours on one weeknight. The local channel also shows one episode each on Saturday and Sunday nights. I still rarely see the Puerto Rican Day, which would suggest that the stations avoid showing it. I agree a very poor episode (especially the laser on the forehead schtick) as were several of the very last episodes.

You can see this episode on You Tube. I just watched it after not having seen it for years. It's got some hilarious scenes particularly when Pennypacker, Varnsen and Vandelay are all together.
