Guy Siner (UK people)

I've just seen (on Paramount) the Mackinaw peaches episode. I was really surprised to see Guy Siner as Elaine's interlocutor. Guy Siner is known in Britain almost exclusively for his role in the long-running - and pretty dire - sitcom 'Allo 'Allo. Does anyone know how he got a job on Seinfeld??
