Jerry and Shoshanna

What is wrong here? Since when has Jerry's private life been anybody's business but his own? Why do people have to be so cruel? I'm twenty-two, and as young as I am I know how painful it can be when people just won't get off my back about who I date, or why I date them, or how old they are. Jerry and Shoshanna have their own reasons for dating, or being friends or whatever, and frankly, neither of them owe it to anybody to announce their own *personal* reasons to the public. The next time you want to make a nasty, hurtful comment, think about you would feel if you were in their place. Try to be happy for them!

They started dating when she was under 18. If they "did the deed", that would Jerry into the same class as Joey Buttofuoco, who today pleaded guilty and will be going to jail. How mant women consider Joey a nice guy.

How come Woody Allen got roasted for doing what Jerry did? Do you agree with that?

When you have a TV show that deals with masturbation, faking orgasms, and breast enlarments, and you date a girl in high school and then DENY it, it sures makes it look like something weird and sleazy is going on. So, of course, people will talk.

Woody did NOT get roasted for doing what Jerry did. People were upset because he was involved with his wife's ADOPTED DAUGHTER, because they feel he abused his position as a father figure. The AGE issue by itself would NEVER have caused such a commotion if there had not been this familial relationship.

Sure people will talk, they will talk no matter who Jerry goes out with. But you are way off base making the comparisons you have made. I don't think Jerry's denials really imply he thinks he has something to hide, it's more that he wants his privacy - and to protect Shoshanna's.

I think the main problem with Woody Allen wasn't so much Soon Yi's age, but rather her relation (albeit tenuous) TO Allen, being in effect, her step-father. Also, the suggestion of sexual child abuse.

Whereas, Jerry's just dating someone considerably younger than himself. Or are they just friends? Why does it matter? As long as no one is pressing charges or suggesting anything prurient happened prior to her 18th brithday..what's the point?
