Stand-Up

in which season did they cancel Jerry's stand-up scenes at the beginning and at the end of every episode?

The stand-up bits were dropped at the beginning of the eighth season. It was at that point that Jerry took over the show from Larry David, and he simply didn't have time to do them anymore. Sometimes the bits were taken directly from his act, but often they were specially written for that particular episode. They always had to be specially filmed, which was quite time consuming.

A side note: in syndication, the stand-up bits seem to have been cut from most of the sixth and seventh season shows as well.
