What's the deal with their pet names?

So Costanza is Georgy Boy, Cosmo is the K-man, and Benes is Lainy. But what's Jerry's petname? You can't tell me it's "Jerry" - a petname for Jerome: that doesn't sound right since Jerry is always "Jerry" and the others are only occaisonally called by their respective petnames...

Elaine calls him Jerome as a dominating tactic. Kramer says "hey buddy". George frequently calls him Jer.

Hmm...good one. I can't think specifically of anyone referring to Jerry with a petname, other than Elaine occasionally calling him Jerome. It may be because Jerry is usually the one using the petnames listed above to refer to the other characters. Maybe he likes petnames. Not that there's anything wrong with that...

While the hypothesis makes sense (we don't hear a petname of Jerry because it's Jerry who calls the others with petnames), I think it doesn't stand because many others (close and far) use the petnames, beside Jerry. There's evidence to the following:

*Elaine herself tells Jerry and George:"Lainy is in love" (in The Wiz) *Kramer is called upon as "K-man" cheerfully by a whole bunch of nameless friends gathered at the bar in the comedy club (the episode where Kramer sells his stories to Peterman) *Kramer calls George "Georgy Boy" (not sure I have a reference for that one ready in my head but I'm pretty confident of that)

Several times Elaine has called Jerry "Jer", such as when she agrees to his marriage proposal ("Jer, let's do it."), but by then Jerry has already changed his mind. She also asks "Jer?" when she wants affirmation from him that she can't dance.

There's definitely a petname for Jerry BUT, does it really count? I mean given that it's not "approved" nor "in circulation" among the 4 and that it was a one-date-one-episode thing, does it really count? But I guess it's the only one as far as the opacity of the matter stands in front of us as of yet...
