don't quote me on this, but i heard (NU folklore) that Julia Louis-Dreyfus went to Northwestern and participated in a student improv show here called Waa-Muu (don't ask me what the name means).
i also heard that she met her husband here and worked with second city while in chicago as well.
if she did go here, then i'd finally have a reason to be proud of my alma mater. maybe i could meet her at some alum function!
Not bloody likely...:-) She dropped out after 1 or 2 years there.

Actually, Waa-Mu is the mainstage show - the student improv group is called Mee-Ow. I don't know what the names mean either, except that Mee-Ow is a parody of Waa-Mu.
The Mee-Ow show is actually pretty good - my younger sister is in it. I'll ask her about any JLD folklore.

I don't know about that, but Julia and her husband (Brad Hall) were both in the Practical Theatre Company, based in Evanston, before they (and some others) left PTC for Saturday Night Live (that was the SNL season they never talk about).
What, Ann-Margret and Charlton Heston aren't enough for you?
I also went to Northwestern, but that was Long Ago. I still live near there.
When was JLD on Saturday Night Live? (What years?) I don't recall seeing her on the show...
