LOVIN THE NEW SEASON AND PROUD OF IT

somebody once made reference to, on this newsgroup, a "hating seinfeld bandwagon." i could not agree more with this assessment and the negative connatations that go along with it.

it's sad how easily people's views and opinions can be seduced by the larger and more forceful ones. however, now that everyone has started to hate seinfeld, i have found i am a happier person. i used to live in fear of being too trendy for the things i loved: seinfeld, in particular. nothing dismayed me more than learning day after day of seinfeld's growing popularity. my mind is now at rest.

i'm going to misquote mark twain right now, so bear with me (it may not even be mark twain.) anyway, a great man once said something that resembles this thought:

whenever i find myself on the side of the majority, i have to step back and re-evaluate my position.

so, to all of you band-wagon jumpers - think about this:

why do you now so vehemently HATE seinfeld? is it because it is a poorly written sitcom with bad acting and unoriginal ideas?

hardly.

it's because you're all feeble minded fools.

Maybe that's exactly what you should do, because Seinfeld is still in the top 2 of TV shows, which means that, by your liking it, you are on the side of the majority.

I notice that those who are blindly devoted to this season's shows seem to have a hard time discerning "extremely disappointed with the new episodes" from "hate the show". In case you haven't noticed, most of the disappointed posters continue to tout the older episodes. That hardly seems like hating the show.

Yes, the writing is poor; no, the acting is not bad; and yes/no, some of the ideas are unoriginal, and some of the ideas are just too forced.

Considering you're basing your opinion on it being the opposite of what you perceive most people are thinking, that's doubly pitiful.

I don't need your pity and couldn't care less about the majority! After all, somehow Seinfeldis still in the ratings top two, despite its decline in quality...the reason why I bitch and moan is because the show is now a shadow of its former self; yes, I think it still has potential but my expectations continue to lower each week...I'm certainly not expecting much from tommorow night, when Kramer scams the post office, but who knows, could be a laugh or two (maybe even three?)
