The Pilot (JERRY) just was shown last week and it remined me of a comment made when Jerry & George were discussiing characters for their NBC project. When the subject of characters came up Elaine was suggested and at first was rejected because it was "too hard to write a part for a woman" (not the exact quote). My point- Do you think the part of Elaine through the history of SEINFELD was well written to reflect a woman or did the writers seem to slack off and not give her the best of plot lines as the show proceeded?

Elaine did have a lot of boyfriends so I'm not sure it's well written to reflect a woman.
She was a great character wit some great plot lines.

I thought The Shoes was very good. I remember a female friend of mine having a good bitch to me, about another woman, because she had commented on her shoes by saying she had a pair just like them.

Well, many of the episodes were written or contributed to by women. Didn't Seinfeld win a big award from a women's group on their equal treatment of women in the show. I remember a spokeperson from that group saying she felt it was fantastic that "Seinfeld" would show things such as women playing poker and smoking cigars without making a big deal out of these usually-male-on-TV activities.
