VHS to CD-ROM

Has anyone heard of transferring VHS recordings to CD-ROM? I've managed to tape all of the episodes on VHS and now I would like to transfer them to CD-ROM. Is this possible?

Yes if you have CD-R (you can find them at $150 or less), but you also need to have a program to chose which format you want it to be like quick time or something else. You can find many programs at http://www.download.com for free.
