Underpants

There was an episode with Costanzas old teacher. (Gymnastics) ...Something about pulling the underpants above his head. :) "Costanja" was Georges 'Nicname'. Jerry got problems with a mad man accusing him for Book-stealing. That happened i the college i think, so it was an old case. The mad man worked at the library. Then Jerry remembered tha Geroge had the book. Meanwhile Kramer did the unpossible.... TO date the librarian!!!

Am I mixing episodes now?

No, you're not mixing episodes. This all happenned in the same episode. George and Jerry's gym teacher from high school was a homeless person begging on the steps of the library. The teacher used to call George "Can't stand ya" based on his last name of Costanza. Jerry was in trouble with the "library police " for a book that he checked out from high school and never returned. He had given it to George. I don't exactly remember why it was impossible for Kramer to date the librarian. This is one of my favorite episodes. The exchanges between Jerry and the library cop were hilarious.

Your right. This all happened in the same ep, which I can't remember the name of. The mad man's name was "Bookman" and he was a "library cop." It was in high school and I think it was a Henry Miller book (Tropic of Cancer?).

It is colloquial english. 'Can not stand you' means one dislikes a person. It is shortened to : Can't stand ya. In spoken english it could sound like 'cantstandja' which sounds similar to Costanza.

Hello! Einar you're wrong!!! This episode is old, even in Norway. It was broadcasted the first time Seinfeld was sent in Norway, I think about 1993 or 1994. TV2 has sent this more then once. They broadcasted this last sesan, when there was 5 OLD shows every week..... Norway is only one seasen behind the US, and I don't think that is so bad. I think UK, Australia, Germany, Holland, Blgium and I'm sure a lot of other contries are longer behind then Norway. I'm looking forward to every new Seinfeld episode, as long as they are. It is episode nr. 22, was first shown in 1991 and the name is: "The Library"

And you have a lot to look forward to! Season 8 has been GREAT so far. "The Package" was one of the best ones yet, right up there with "The Soup Nazi" and "The Contest"

i thought i heard him say "can'tstandya", both mangling the name and implying great dislike.

it was highschool. the book was from the public library, and was "naughty", so george wasn't suposed to tell anyone they had it. i'm thinking it was something like _tropic_of_cancer_, because there was a second book mentioned with a similar title, like _tropic_of_capricorn_. i'm probably wrong about the book titles.

the mad man was a library cop trying to wrap up old cases.

'course the maximum fine they could charge should have been the replacement cost of the book.

i don't remember two episodes where they spent that much time going in and out of the library.

and doesn't kramer always do the highly unlikely?
