I noticed that at the end of "The Chicken Roaster", Elaine shows the Urban Sombrero, on the cover of the latest catalog issue, to Peterman, to which he responds "The Horror, the horror!"

In "The Checks" when Jerry is standing in the rain, trying to buy an umbrella from Padilack(sp), a man in an Urban Sombrero walks by and the other umbrella vendor mentions how the umbrella business has suffered since the U.S. came out.
When Pederman said "Horror, Horror" it was a goof on the book "Apocalypse Now" was based on. I can't remember the title. Anyways, I took it to mean that he thought it was ugly, not that it wouldnt sell. Jon B.

Actually, the way it was set up, it was a goof on the movie "Apocalypse Now", which of was based on the book "Heart of Darkness."
The original book took place in the Congo during the Belgian Congo war, and there was a character named Kurtz who says "The Horror, the Horror."

What do you mean what's the deal? Everything is in order. Peterman only got to see the catalog at the end of the chicken roasters, but Elaine actually put it on the cover in the very first episode of last season. Therefore it was out for some time before Peterman saw it or before the comment in the rain. I hope that answered your question for you.
