Well there is but 9 new shows left & our glands & brains are working overtime trying to picture the last episode. One tragedy (besides the fact that it is ending at all) is the manner of it's leaving: the decision was mad as it were during halftime and not at the begging of the season so there is something hurried about the affair.
Now we can picture all kinds of scenarios about the last episode. Just last year I said that 85% of all episodes fell into but 2 catorgories, the mundane (The Parking Garage), or the surreal (Bizzaro Jerry.) Since the end of the show has been announced I noticed another demension to the show. Notice the "Darkness" in each episode? This is more than the 15 degrees out of whack atmosphere that prevailed in the first 3 seasons.
There is an edgeyness to the characters that not merely makes them look silly but meanspirited as well. There iisn't the long monologues of the past such as Elaine's changing view on eating out or George's "Impending intestinal requirement." There is more shouting and less urbane urban humor.
Crazy Joe Devola & Babu are two loose threads which just might be spun back into the plot. The crying shame is that there is just to little time to explore some of the nooks & crannies of the characters and the plotlines that develop from them.
