I've never understood why people like that one. Was it the first show they did that was really about "nothing" and hence a seminal episode or something along those lines? It's really boring and painful to watch in my opinion.

Now down to business. I agree to some extent that "The Chinese Restaurant" is too often mistaken as one of the best episodes. It is not. However, there's no question that it was one of the most important episodes ever because it came when the show was going through the critical phase of setting itself apart from other shows. "The Parking Garage," "The Subway," and later, "The Virgin" and"The Contest" served the same purpose, each in a different way. Few episodes gave me the same feeling while watching, and the next day, than these, even though with the possible exception of "The Contest," they would not make my list of the 5 best.

My favorite episode is The Bizzaro Jerry. The finale tried to turn the tables but this episode does it better and gets better on repeat viewings as you notice all the subtle little jokes.

Mine is the one where Kramer turn is appartement in a talk show. (Turn the music off)

I put a transcript on my Web page (see sig) Other things going on in that ep were: Jerry dating a woman with "man hands", Elaine discovering her friend Kevin has a group of friends that are a bizarro version of Jerry and friends, and George gets into "the forbidden city"--the social world of models--because he's using the dead fiancee line along with a photo of a gorgeous woman (Jerry's gf).

Mine is "The Opera." (No transcript--too good to transcribe, IMHO.)
