Seinfeld - Superman. The Project

Since they just rolled over in syndication and started showing the series from the pilot episode, I figured this would be as good a time as any to begin the project that will ultimately verify the number of non-Superman reference Seinfeld episodes. Up until now, I've been taking '52' as fact, but I'd like to be sure and I need everyone's help.

So far, I found no Superman references at all in the first two episodes, "Good News, Bad News" and "The Stakeout".

Unless someone can show there was a reference in either of these episodes, they will be the first two on the 'No Reference' list.

Two down, 178 to go.

How 'bout references to other superheros (Batman, etc.)? Would it be worthwhile to include that info too, or is it beyond the scope of the "study"? ;-)

I suppose all legitimate lesser super hero references can be included for the sake of completeness, but I'm only concerned with Superman.

you will not convince the faithful unless you also view all syndication cuts from those episodes. i realize they didn't cut over 50 Superman references, but i think you want your project to be absolute proof.

i suppose this would be the first ref.: [The Robbery] while saying "I am the Master Packer!" Jerry strikes the classic "fists-on-hips" Superman pose.

can you post the list of 52?

I don't know that merely standing with "fists-on-hips" is enough for it be a Superman reference. Perhaps it might be considered a generic superhero reference, but that's about it.

Nah. So creative. I need overt references. The word 'Superman' being spoken, for example. Or an image of a caped man in red and blue, that sort of thing.

I don't have it. Thus the need for the project. :-)
