Fans praise The Pothole for excellent writing and plot merging across storylines, with particular enthusiasm for the comedic ending involving Newman's mail van fire.
For overall flow and plot continuity, I'd say the Feb. 20 episode was the best written this year. All the storylines merged, even Elaine's and George's (when jackhammering George tips his hat to janitor Elaine). I thought the Chicken Roasters episode was funny, but the last five minutes of 2/20 was the funniest stuff I've seen on "Seinfeld" in the last five years.
Seeing Newman burn in his mail van after singing "Three Times A Lady" was sick, but hilarious. Thank God they didn't kill *him* off!
I don't know about BEST, since there were a lot of good ones this season, but it was above average. I was glad to have a new Seinfeld episode because that day they showed "The Marine Biologist" for the billionth time, and I was really starting to get sick of it. The episodes this season can be watched over and over again without ever getting stale (I've watched "The Little Kicks" about ten times and still crack up every time I see it).
My favorite part from the 2/20 show (what was it called?) was when Jerry's about to kiss his girlfriend, but then gets a flashback of the toliet scene. And Newman screaming "Oh the humanity!" was a classic line.
