JA on Later with Bob Costas

Last night I stayed awake through David Letterman and was suprised to see JA on Later with Bob Costas. If you have ever seen the show before, you know that Bob goes thoroughly through (awkward sorry) a persons professional history. Some things JA said were: When he was a young boy, he went to see a play on broadway with his mother. After the play he promised his mother that he would be performing on Broadway in ten years. He ended up missing that by two years. He recently did a series of a one act play in which he played Harry Truman. They showed a clip of the play and he did not look like himself at all and the character was very serious. Definately a far stretch from the George character. JA also recently was asked and made a CD of George Gershwin songs. The CD is called "George and I". JA said he has gotten several movie / bit parts in TV shows that either have his character as being a slim-ball like in Pretty-woman, or whatever clever adjective he used to describe the George character. He said that he would never take any of these offers because neither of those roles is how he wants to be remembered. He wants to perform in more serious roles. He attested that Seinfeld will end after the fifth year because the whole group wants to be doing other things. JA said he mainly did the audition for Seinfeld for the recognition. He did not think the show would even get the pilot filmed. He said something to the effect that he didn't even like the George character but he did it anyway. The next thing he knew, he was in the pilot and it was a success. And a little tidbit for the FAQ, we know that Jerry's favorite episode is "The New Friend / The Boyfriend" and Jason's favorite episode is "The Chinese Restaraunt". I'm pretty sure I got everything right, it was late and I was rebuilding an old Fisher tube tuner. If anything is wrong, I'm sorry, just correct me.

Hmmm... Jason Alexander has been described in many ways, but I doubt he has ever been called a slim-ball... more of a thick-ball, I'd say...
