Fans discuss whether the Macintosh computer on Jerry's desk is a prop from Moonlighting, with posters identifying it as a Mac Classic purchased between 1990-1991 based on its manual and appearance.
I heard somewhere, I think it was here, that the Mac sitting on the desk in Jerry's apt. is a prop from the old show Moonlighting.
On last night's show, there was a good shot of it when Jerry walked over towards the desk. The front of the machine looked too rounded to be a MacSE but looked more like a Mac classic was released long after Moonlighting went off the air.
Is this a Seinfeld pseudo urban legend?
It's a Macintosh Classic. When the camera was showing Jerry's answering machine (with Crazy Joe Devola talking), you could clearly see the Macintosh "Reference" manual shipped with Macs until about a year ago.
So, this Mac Classic was purchased probably between October '90 and Late '91. The new manuals came out when Apple switched to brown recycled cardboard boxes. It is NOT a Classic II since those always shipped with the new manuals.

If I'm not mistaken, Jerry's original computer was an SE, but it went away when his apartment was robbed and was replaced by a Classic. I'm not too sure of this, can anyone confirm? Chris
It is not a Classic ! It's a Plus or a Fat Mac (512). More than likely a Plus though.

Why the Hell would they use the same prop from Moonlighting. The show's not THAT low-budget.
