I was watching an old episode of Seinfeld on tape and I happened to get a short intro that Jerry did for "The Boyfriend". (One of the few episodes that includes the title in the show) Anyway, Jerry goes on to say "It is such an honor when the execs at NBC asked me to choose a favorite episode to re-run. I felt they asked me because the caliber of the show is so high, it approaches comedic excellence..." (BTW, I'm paraphrasing here... I don't remember the exact quote...) "... but as it turns out, they said they just needed to fill up the hour. So here it is, one of my personal favorites - The New Friend." ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ I rewound the VCR a few times to see if I had heard it wrong, but he indeed says "The NEW Friend".
Does anyone know the story behind this? Could it be that our comedy icon, Jerry Seinfeld himself, got the name of "his favorite" episode wrong?
