Twix bloopers

Since there were only two twix bars in the machine and the mechanic apparently got George's and one for himself (when George returned, there were no Twixes in the candy machine) where did the Twixes come from for George to do his experiment at the end of the show? We did not see a guy coming to replenish the machine. Second, if George only had the one dollar bill on him and had to rely on the change under the machine to get the Twix, where did the money come from for George to purchase all the cancy bars at the end of the show?

Another thing is why didn't George just eat the candy that he bought for the setup.

Not really, one bad mistake on the show doesn't nessessarily mean its bad quality. Personally I thought the episode on 1/8 was better than the crap that I've seen all week.

George didn't eat the twix bars at the end because eating the bars had nothing to do with it. It was the principle of stealing someone elses candy that was his driving force. He just wanted to prove to everybody that the mechanic did steal his twix. The writing is great, it's the twit-wit audience that can't understand the complexities of the george character.

Or maybe he bought more candy than he needed for the setup. Maybe he had his ATM card with him (Bosco!) so there was plenty of cash at his disp[osal, just not in change at the car dealership. There are literally dozens of explanations for how the plot could have worked.

I never understood that. All my ATM cards had number PINs, and no letters on the keypads. They did have Braille, though. Why would they do that? Do they think a visually-impaired person is going to drive a car up to the machine? That would be a dangerous hazard, AND WE'RE LIVING IN A SOCIETY HERE! Serenity, serenity.

Well, when I put in my number at the bank to get my card, it had a regular phone type pad with letters. But even so, "bosco" wouldn't work as they only allow 4 digits.

Just thought I'd point out that in NYC, it is common for banks to use 6-digit pin numbers. I've never heard of 5 digits being used, though...

Codes that are too LONG work fine. The computer reads only the first four characters and ignores the fifth. But using the fifth helps a person to remember something that is not just a string of nonsense letters.

1-800 phone numbers work like this too. Some companies use 8 or 9 characters after the 1-800 if their name is longer than the 7 digits that the phone number uses. The extra characters don't make a difference in the connection.

Yeah right. That's the first time I ever saw George's name mentioned in the same sentence as principle. Let's face it there were plot hole's the size of Newman in this episode.

Easy. George said it took him an hour to do the candy line-up. I thought he ran out and got some somewhere. Otherwise, why would it have taken him an hour?

He probably ran to the convenience store nearby and bought them with his credit card. Or maybe he had a $10 on him. The only things we know about what money he had on him are 1) he didn't have enough change and 2) he only had 1 $1. That doesn't mean he didn't have a $5 or larger bill on him.

Again, easy. The only thing the surpasses George's need for food is his need for revenge. :)

OK, along this thread, here's another thing that bugged me (I'm bugged easily).

George was looking under the vending machine for spare change to buy a Twix bar. Jerry walked by and George said he only needed another nickel, which Jerry gave him. George then deposited THREE coins in the machine and got his Twix. We later found out that it cost 75 cents for the Twix. Everyone guess...if George needed a nickel, the candy cost 75 cents, what three coins did he drop in the machine??????

WOW? You're right. How about this... He already put in two quaters THEN realized we had only two dimes, so needed a nickle to complete the transaction. When he got the nickle he continued with the two dimes and the nickle.....DA DAH!

Yes it matters - that is why we are here discussing trivial unimportant issues about a TV show - we CARE about things that don't matter. Did my origional response dissapear into Usenet heaven? Here it is again:

My solution was: George put in 2 quarters then realized he had onle two dimes left - so went to Jerry for a nickle. He returned to the machine at which time we saw him insert the two dimes and a nickle.

*Or*, George had already put in two dimes, got the nickel from Jerry and inserted that with the two quarters! The possibilities are endless! :-)

Actually, the possibilities are not endless. There is a finite number of possibilities (and it's probably a very low number).

And why didn't Geeorge simply walk over to the service department, tell the cashier that he needed change since the machine would not take his dollar and use the change to buy the twix? Why all the histrionics from George?
