UK TV showings of Seinfeld

I've noticed that UK Paramount TV has stopped showing Seinfeld everyday, to be replaced by the wank "Ellen", this is after repeating the first 3 seasons about THREE times.

BBC2 aren't much better, they show one season every year, and then they piss around which the scheduling, so you never know when it's on.

It's a fucking travesty that we have to suffer un-funny canned laughter ("Spin City"), predictable farce ("Frasier") and vomit-inducing shiny- happy-people ("Friends") while Seinfeld never gets a look in.

Anyone else agree with me?

I still cant believe that no TV station will give seinfeld the timeslot it deserves. The BBC's scheduling is shit as seinfeld could be on for two weeks in a row and then suddenly be pulled from the listings, and when it returns its usually a different day.

And what about when the last episode of seinfeld was broadcasted in America and it got massive ratings. Where was the coverage in our papers. After all you always hear about the Friends storylines which are at times crap so I think they could have put some effort in and gave seinfeld the attention it deserves in the UK.

A few points

1. Sky 1 should put Seinfeld on DAILY at 6:30 instead of Friends (or 7 and cut Simpsons down to 1 a night) 2. Paramount should give Seinfeld what it deserves (i.e Daily). Just because it doesn't come from Paramount itself (Frasier & Cheers) doesn't mean that it should be cast away to the depths of Sunday Night. (They haven't moved Frasier & Cheers for ages now). 3. BBC should let Paramount 'go ahead' of them. At the moment Paramount are not allowed to 'overtake' BBC2 I think, so Castle Rock will not sell them a season before they sell it to BBC.

Could not agree more. Seinfeld bears up to repeated viewing more than any other comedy I've seen. I like Frasier too but why does it command such comparative loyalty from Paramount?

Another gripe. Having waited for months for series 5 of Seinfeld I was not impressed that Paramount showed 8 episodes a week so it was less than 3 weeks from beginning to end. They repeated it at the same rate and then we were back to the series one. I reckon 4 episodes a week maximum provides a better pace to savour and digest the subtleties of the program.

However I do think Paramount are going to have to buck up there ideas. Even their own text pages are filled these days with increasing dissatisfaction over their line-up. And I hear the viewers are starting to vote with their remotes.
