Jerry Worth Paying To See (new jokes)?

After reading some citiques about last night's Letterman Performance (and agreeing that his material is old)...I have a big concern. How does he work his stand-up act? I am going to see him on June 18th and am now much less excited. I don't want to sit there for an hour or so finishing all of his jokes in my head before he even gets to the punch line. What's the point of that? Has anyone seen him live lately...is it all old stuff that any true Seinfeld fan would know..or does he has some less-airable material that he saves as a special treat for his live show fans? Please respond and reassure me that his show is worth my time and money.

I saw Jerry the first time at a club in 1988 and never laughed so hard. But then I saw him do those same jokes for the next 3 years on talk shows. I wouldn't go see him now since judging from the Letterman show the other night all his new material is used on his series. He's just a stand-up, not a god.

I totally agree. I saw him in December 1991 at the Worcester(MA) Aud. He was reciting the same jokes you can catch at the start/end of each 'Seinfeld'. Pretty lame, if you ask me. He's a good stand-up technically speaking but he's not an outstanding stand-up by any stretch of imagination..There's so many other proven alternatives this summer where I can spend my 50 bucks --- Stones, Pink Floyd....
