Smelly Car

That was the best episode ever! I loved when they stuck the maitre d' in the car.

The matre 'd was played by Michael des Barres, ex member of the bands Detective and Scum of the Earth. The listing for the video store clerk was "Courtney Gains" or something like that but I sure think it looked a lot like Jerry's fellow comdeian Carrot Top. His hat must have been on awfully tight.

des Barres also took Robert Palmer's place as the lead singer for Power Station for a tour. The funny thing is that he can't sing a lick. He is also or at least was married to Pamela des Barres who was one of rock's biggest groupies and a member of Zappa's Mothers of Invention. She recently released the book "I'm with the Band" documenting her groupie exploits.

des Barres seems to popup in a lot of places. He's on the New WKRP in Cincinnati and he's played bit parts in alot of sitcoms and cable shows (e.g. The Hitchiker).

The video store clerk did look awful familiar. I know I've seen him somewhere else.

No, it was Courtney Gaines. No question about that face - uggh! He has been in several movies - Children of the Corn I, for example ("Outlander" - uggh!) One of my least favorite character actors.

des Barres is also more recently known to tv for his recurring role of Murdoc, the assassin that would not die, in Macgyver.

Just a small correction: Pamela des Barres was *NEVER* a member of the Mothers. She was Zappa's housekeeper and became a member of the Zappa produced group GTOs. Also, "I'm With The Band" is her previous book. She has a new one out, but I forget the title.
