That Settles It!!! George is Half-Italian, Half-Jewish!

In "The Money" (a negligible achievement, BTW--how ironic that their million-dollar demands hit the media on the day of such a mediocre episode), George's mother says, "I wouldn't ride in a German car." Her expression indicated that she was thinking of Nazism, tipping off the fact that she is Jewish, while Frank is Italian.

Has Frank ever given any evidence of being Christian. First, no one is more jewish than Jerry Stiller. He makes no effort in his characterization to tone this down. Second, being Italian and being jewish are not inconsistent. Third, why do you think both parents made such a fuss when George was going to convert to Latvian Orthodox. Do you think the switch from one Christian sect to another would cause such a fuss. Fourth, when George was speaking to the priests concerning his conversion and they asked him if he was familiar with their religion, he did not answer well like all Christians I believe in Jesus Christ, etc. He gave an evasive answer saying he was generally familiar with the principles. And when he was asked what he liked about Lativian orthodox, he said he liked the hats. Would a Christian of any sort give this kind of an answer? Only someone quite unfamiliar with the specifics of Christianity would speak this way (unless you are assuming that they just wrote it this way to be funny, even if it made no sense for the character).

What EXACTLY does this statement mean? What is it in Jerry Stiller's characterization that you perceive to be overtly Jewish and not "toned down"?

When Stiller and Meira were doing their act, one of them was Catholic, and one was Jewish. I believe the Stiller end of it was Jewish. They worked their differences into their act, and talked about it when interviewed. George's father is half-Jewish and his mother is fully so, therefore George is 3/4 Jewish. Besides they're all from New York so they're automatically honorary Jews. :o
