Seinfeld copied BnB

Don't get me wrong, I liked the episode from this past week, but they copied one of Beavis And Butthead's episodes. It was called Beavis and Butthead Vs. The Vending Machine. They were getting sour cream and salsa pork rines from the machine, and it stuck and didn't come out. They punched and kicked the machine for the pork rines to come out, but it didn't work. So butthead said if someone was to buy the pork rines, they would get two bags. In seinfeld, that happened exactly, but someone ended up getting both bags. I'm just wondering if they got the idea from it, or if it was just a coincedence. -JJ

You must be about 14 or a shut in (if you are I'm sorry). This may be hard to understand but in REAL life vending machines take money and sometimes they even keep your purchase. Now please try to understand that Beavis & Butthead is nothing more than a cartoon. And they are not real. Now I know that Seinfeld is also a TV show but, they are real people. They best way to tell for future reference is to not that real people and things do nat have a black outline around them. That may come in handy. Trust me, NO ONE in the Seinfeld camp is tuning into B & B for ideas. Do me a favor and ask you parents for some change and go find a vending machine. Spend the whole day (Saturday, you cant afford to miss ANY school) dropping change into it and maybe you'll see that this happens in real life too.

I saw that episode of B&B and it doesn't even measure or compare to this episode of Seinfeld. How could you even think they were similar?

Probably a coincidence. Candy really does sometimes get stuck in vending machines, and people really can get two for the price of one if they buy a "dangling" piece of candy. It's not much of a stretch for a writer to write a script about this common phenomenon.

Other ideas you could claim Seinfeld "stole":

George gets fired. This was stolen from The Flintstones, when Fred got fired.

Kramer gets a wacky idea for a business. Ralph Kramden once did that on The Honeymooners. Therefore, it must be stolen.

Jerry's apartment got robbed. This idea was clearly stolen from the Mary Tyler Moore show, the episode when her apartment got robbed.

In "The Contest," the gang makes a bet. This was stolen from the episode of "Happy Days" when the Fonz made a bet.

Also, there was an episode when Jerry drove a car. I distinctly remember a "Kojak" episode in which Kojak drove a car!

And when Kramer walked acroos the room? That's been done! Bullwinkle walked across a room on several episodes of "Rocky and Bullwinkle."

Geez! Seinfeld doesn't seem to have one original idea! And yet people claim it's "innovative"???
