I have been reading this ng for about a week now and am mildly surprised that no one has mentioned the sighting of the real Kramer a week ago on CNBC. I noticed a few posts regarding his apparent demise but as of last week he sure looked very alive.
I think it was last Wednesday or Thursday evening on the CNBC program GREAT STUFF. Kenny Kramer was a guest on the show promoting and speaking about his tour business of New York City sites mentioned or spotted on the Seinfeld show.
Apparently, he has a five-day-a-week tour costing about $40 or $50 that includes a meal and a tour of pertinent sites relevent to Seinfeld. He said that since he provides a meal with the tour, it is one of the best values per tourist dollar in New York City.
On GREAT STUFF he said that he himself has been guiding the tours, but, starting the first of 1998, he will be out of the country (I believe in Australia or New Zealand) doing promotional work cashing in on his celebrity status outside of the USA.
He was shown supervising a "casting call" for replacement tour guides and had them in front of several "Seinfeld" sites. When the new guides take over, the tours will be operating seven days a week. Most of the guides selected have been out-of-work actors.
Since he has been doing it himself, five days a week was enough, he likes his weekends off. With numerous new guides, the tours will he held every day. So, if you want to see, and hang out with, the real Kramer, you better get to NYC before the end of this year.
