I haven't read or seen The English Patient_. neither nor But then I couldn't take more than 5 or 10 minutes of Lawrence of Arabia or Star Wars either.
Is this movie principally targeted for women or the literary crowd? Are they the same thing?

In a local library, recently noticed: re morality at the Movies Queens Quarterly magazine from Queens University in Kingston Ontario
has two articles on the values implicit in Michael Ondaatje's _The English Patient_ One mentions friendship of Kim Philby and Graham Greene as a possible reason GG didn't get Nobel Prize.
One compares TEP to Casablanca with Bogart and Bacall, particularly the ending that American Rick joins the Resistance even though his country isn't yet involved in the war and Bacall joins her anti-nizi husband.
Very different choices than those made in TEP. Maybe I should watch Casablanca again.
