The Problem w/this Newsgroup

I just started reading this newsgroup a few months ago. Since then, I haven't really enjoyed Seinfeld, even the re-runs. Why? I think this newsgroup has made me overanalyze the show! Analyzing humor usually kills it for me.

Plus, it gets tiring with people saying how sucky the show is, etc. Humor is a matter of opinion. I see some people saying X is their favorite episode, and someone else just as vehemently claiming that X is their least favorite episode. This wouldn't be a problem but so many of us have to insist that our opinion is the only correct one.

Seinfeld is meant to be viewed and laughed at. Not analyzed over and over again by a bunch of people who would be lucky to get a chuckle at a Rotary speech. At least, that is the way *I* will enjoy the show the most....

Well said!! Use that and mail it to all those people who can only cry "if you don't like it don't watch it" every time sometime critisizes the show.

Justin is right, If there is a place to analyze "Seinfeld", this is the place. Also, his reviews may be long-winded, but thats because he is a fan, and he cares. I'm all for that. I think he is a little hostile and he should chill sometimes and respect others opinions, but I respect his opinion and everyones for that matter. I'm a fan, and like to hear what people have to say. I think we all need to enjoy these new episodes while we still have them, because next year this time, the newer ones may not be at our fingertips anymore. There may be no more new ones, than we will have something to complain about. Jon B.

No, it's not. This is your problem, Justin. There are as many "points" as there are posters and readers. Some people do like to analyze. Some people come by to check out the syndication list. Some people--believe it or not--come by to share good feelings and fellowship.

When I'm in some bad bar with my bad band playing some bad blues and I spot a guy wearing a shirt that has the word Canada on it, I always go up and talk to him. I'm from Canada. We talk about where we were born, have a little laugh at something. We just share some good energy.

That's why I come here to the ng. I think it's odd how a lot of us really dig this show. I don't live in NYC. I don't know anyone much like the 4 characters on the show; I don't share the foibles and troubles they face. But, I get a hell of a laugh at them, and sometimes it's nice to share the good word with some like-minded individuals.

And that's must MY reason. Surely other posters and readers have other reasons for being here. We know yours; that's terrific. It exercises something in you, and as long as you don't continue hurting and abusing and annoying people, you'll continue to get read. (Lots of folks have written me and told me just to "killfile" you, but I persevere.)

Lots of folks; lots of reasons to be here...not just your reason.
