I was wondering what other comedies are you guys watching other than Seinfeld?

I am watching these religiously:

Futurama. Friends.

Not so religiously:

It's like, you know. The Simpsons.

Looks promising:

Cold Feet.

Thats it, Network TV sucks. Especially WB and UPN. But FOX, CBS, NBC suck too.

There aren't many comedies on right now that I like. The only ones are: Sex and the City Dharma and Greg

Other shows that I like are: The Sopranos MTV Undressed(surprisingly very good) Loveline

SEX AND THE CITY- best sitcom since Seinfeld

I like Murphy Brown too, but the show is easily dated and I doubt that it will still be playing ten years from now. Of course, I might be good to watch with kids as sort of a history lesson aid.

I'm not familiar with this one. Where and when is it on and what is it about, if anything?

It's that depressing opening theme music that gets to me each and every time. This show has never appealed to me. I have tried with the most unbiased mind to view this show, but still it just never tickles my damn fancy. For whatever reason.

OK DAMNIT, I WATCH M*A*S*H AND AM DAMN PROUD OF IT! I must admit I am more prouder to say that X-FILES KICKS ASS, especially the last season finale! Seinfeld is a given!

When M*A*S*H first aired in the seventies it was light-years ahead of everything else in both writing and attitude. Modern comedy owes everything to this show, so perhaps people looking at it now for the first time can't see anything "special" in it. Of course if you didn't like it at the time... no accounting for taste!

Incidentally, in the UK it was always broadcast without a laughter track, which seemed to add to its sophistication. (How many comedies would survive without a laughter track?) One episode slipped through one week with the laughter and I hated it.

And that theme tune is one of the best of all time!

Drew Carey (ABC) The Simpsons (Fox) South Park (Comedy Central) Monday Night Football (ABC) Ally McBeal (Fox: after football season ends) and starting this week, based on the premiere, Action (Fox) plus a few quality dramas: The Practice (ABC), Mystery (PBS) and Law and Order (NBC)

Shows I see frequently though not every week: Whose Line Is It Anyway (ABC) SportsNight(ABC) Futurama(Fox) Norm (ABC) Sunday afternoon NFL (CBS, Fox) Sunday night NFL (ESPN)

Anything else is just a very occasional thing at best. Frasier has dropped off the list of regulars because it's gotten too "cute". 3d Rock is fun but it airs at a lousy time for my schedule and isn't as fresh as it used to be. The season finale was so far above the other episodes I caught...maybe that's a sign things are getting better for that show this coming season,

(Not counting local programs and regional cable sportscasts that aren't seen in most of the country, of course...)

Is it just me...or was there a lot more truly "must see TV" just a few years ago?
