OK, someone had to start this thread, might as well be me. Here's my take on the final episode:
They started off with a nice, normal show: then they get the pilot thing which is kind of cool. Ain't It Cool Coaxial News (www.aint-it-cool-news.com) had a synopsis that would have been perfect and was accurate for about the first 20 minutes; however then they had to go into the synopsis that CNN reported with that whole long trial thingy. Frankly I would have to say that that was one of the most stupid, cliche'd series finales I've ever seen: Seinfeld has always been the witty, irreverent comedy, something that people talk about afterwards, something that makes you (in the words of that immortal Apple ad) "Think Different".
Taking the old characters and sticking them in a trial where there's very little comedy (other than each playing out his/her own character) and mostly just a summary of stuff we've already seen is really just plain lame. Why couldn't they do something that was funny AND nicely summarized the show? Or at least put the funnier characters on the stand, like Peterman and Newman; THAT might have been funny. Mrs. Choate (sp?) is just not funny.
I have to give them credit for the jail thing, much like that wonderful season finale when Susan suddenly died; that was the one revolutionary part of this, ending the show with the characters thrown in jail instead of somehow being acquitted by some last-minute, heartfelt testimony. But overall I think they could have done a lot better.
(please no flames about grammar/misspelling/personal odor/satan worship/would i like to buy a bulk e-mail program, I'm just posting my thoughts)
