Well, he fell into about $18,000 betting his traffic ticket money on a horse in "The Subway". I expect that would have run out by now, though, so he may have had other monetary pratfalls that we haven't heard the specifics on yet. He _is_ good at those pratfalls, eh what? Or maybe he just gets it from his various enterprises, and sponges off Jerry to make up the difference.

Does this mean that Kramer considers Jerry to be spongeworthy?

lot of money. He doesn't have a job, but pays his rent and maintains a car. He didn't get any money from Java World anyway. Just free coffee for life. Since we've met Kramer's mother, the ladies restroom matron, we can assume that 1) Kramer's money was not an inheritence, or 2) a HUGE sum of money; since if either were the case, his mother would not be working at such a lousy job while he does nothing. I think his money must come in weekly or monthly installments; this prevents him from making lavish gifts of cash or goods. Based on past episodes, I would guess that he accidentally invented something and is collecting royalty checks for it. (Recall the "Mansierre" episode where he invents the bra for men). The fact that he does sometimes take odd jobs (for example the "stand in" with the midget on the soap opera) also is evidence that he is not wealthy and may sometimes run short of funds. The writers of the show probably think in a similar fashion.

His mother's job wouldn't have anything to do with it -- as you will recall, that episode was the first time Kramer had spoken to his mother in years, and during that show, after their reconciliation (and his coming to terms with his first name) she quit her job.
