Fans discuss whether Seinfeld's HD remaster would improve picture quality given the show was shot on 1990s video equipment rather than film.
I see that the Seinfeld episodes have been remastered in high def, but the common DVDs are only enhanced def.
Since the show was videotaped on 1990s equipment, would the high def version appear any better than the current DVD versions. Or was the show filmed?

I always thought that the show was filmed. I remember reading an interview with someone that worked with the footage once it was shot and he was describing how he got a certain look to the vision.

The show was filmed, and was recently transferred to HD video. The current dvd's obviously aren't HD, but it's not too long until they will be. This will mean having to buy them again..sigh...
I think the retrospective special on NBC a while back was in HD...
On the peer-to-peer networks, I have seen some widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio Seinfeld video clips of some episodes. I wondered if they stretched or cropped the 4:3 video to get that, or if there was leftover unused parts of the frame. Probably just a stretch or crop job, since I don't think they would have considered Seinfeld for HD in the '90s.
