I've been reading every story and buying every book I can find on this subject. Did you read the last paragraph of that story you posted? Planet of the Apes doesn't seem like such science fiction when you think about the implications of what those two scientists tried to patent.

As the article states, they're growing human brains in sheep and mice, and have the protocol in place to kill any of these animals if they start acting human in any manner. This is just ghoulish to think about.

If they grow a human brain inside a monkey, and it starts verbalizing words and acting like a human, should they kill it? What if it's obvious it has a human mind? If the ACLU found out about it they might force the courts to keep it alive and let it have a life of its own. Then there would be nothing to keep it from breeding and starting an entire new species. Lots of food for thought.

They're also working on other genetic projects, such as modifying the human brain. In the next 50 years we're going to see people with astronomical IQs, in the 2000+ range. New species of humans could emerge from these experiments, with minds that don't even think like ours. There's a great book titled OUR FINAL HOUR that describes all these new possibilities. The scientist who wrote it thinks we have a 50/50 chance of destroying ourselves by mid-century.

Like most of the population, clueless as to where science is going in this century. Last month a black hole was accidentally created in a super collider, theoretically it could have expanded and swallowed up the earth. Everything stated in this post and the previous one are not my opinions, the material was taken from recent science periodicals.

Yes, I'll agree about "clueless about science." If you read more about the super-collider experiments, you will find that they only mathematically approach a black-hole model. Super-colliders can not create actual black holes because they lack the power to produce sufficient Planck energy. Even if it could actually produce a mini-black-hole, quantum effects would cause it to dissipate. The minimum sustainable black hole is about six solar masses. Nothing created in a lab (unless it's a freaking big lab) will be swallowing us up.

Maybe when he was young he was told to be a simple man, to be something he loves and understands. I don't think there's anything wrong with that. At least he's satisfied, and there's no Planck energy or lab big enough to keep him out of Florida.

Please cite the science periodical that reported this. Do you understand what a black hole is? Do you understand what a collider does? Do you have any idea how fundamentally opposite those concepts are?

Explain how "theoretically" that could have happened. Hint: you'll have to build on the principle of a black hole. I'm not sure you're up to the task.
