Maybe it's just George's mom who is Jewish or has Jewish beleifs. Even though he IS her son, he's not necessarily 100% required to take his mother's religion. George's dad wouldn't mind riding in a German car, be it for the reason that he is Jewish and doesn't care, or is simply not Jewish. Right now, I'm just not sure.

Folks, remember that although 6million Jews were killed in the Holocaust, over 10 million others (Polish Christians, etc and other PoWs from Italy, France, even Germany itself) were also killed as well. This is a largely ignored aspect of World War II. You certainly don't have to be Jewish to hate Germany (although it helps).
I can't remember the episode - and I'll try to go through my archive - but I think the only Jewish characters in the show are Kramer and Jerry

I thought George's mother was more into a "I'll only ride in American cars" kind of an attitude than necessarily bashing Germans. After all a lot of Americans won't buy Japanese either.

He belongs to the Knights of Columbus, and to be a member of the Knights of Columbus, you MUST be Roman Catholic. There is no argument about this. Frank Costanza is not Jewish. Jewish folks don't enter the Knights of Columbus. (remember the Protoge episode). Sorry folks. Accept it, move on. The mother might be Jewish, but definitely not the father. George's father is DEFINITELY NOT JEWISH. :)

I ignored no such fact. You refer to Frank, the father. The thread is about George, the son. Never said the father was Jewish. Never. Look at the thread subject as well as the content of my and the previous person's messages. :)
in the limo episode, george unknowingly pretended to be a white supremacist. now, in my mind, for this joke to really work, george would have to be jewish. because then you would have white supremacists sitting there idolizing this person who they thought was one of them, but was in fact the very thing they hated. and also, during the ride, george whistled "if i were a rich man" from fiddler on the roof. now before you flame me, i know that that doesn't make him jewish, but it does, i think, increase the possibilty. and remember, this is my opinion, and my opinion only.

This part of your commentary is simply incorrect. The Jewish girl who marries a Muslim or a Catholic remains (by Jewish law) Jewish unless she accepts her husband's Muslim or Catholic faith. Mere marriage does not alter her status. If she does not herself convert, her child--under Jewish law--would be considered Jewish.
The Gentile girl who marries a Jew does not--under Jewish law--automatically become Jewish, unless she formally converts to Judaism. Unless she does that, her child would not be considered Jewish under Jewish law (although Reform Jews are considering a proposal that would consider any child with one Jewish parent to be Jewish).

After having lurked for a long long time in this group, I figured it's now a safe time to come out...
I believe one must be able to trace to your maternal grandmother your Jewish heritage to be considered Jewish.
A person whose beliefs are not in line with Judaism is not a religious Jew, but is, in heritage, Jewish. "Jewish" applies to religion and heritage - separately.
I remember in one episode Jerry ate a ham sandwich.. that struck me as odd. As I'm not Jewish, I can't say it's wholly impossible for a jew to eat ham. However, as it is against doctrine, I'd imagine Jerry (the character) must be an extremely progressive Jew or not at all religious.
As a Marine, I've experienced the effects of Judaism in field training. A friend and fellow Marine refused to eat "Omelet w/ Ham" and "Ham Slice" MREs claiming his Jewish beliefs. Of course, he admitted to me it was just because he hates those two MREs (grin) but doesn't hold to the beliefs that ham is a disallowed food product. He did, however, receive different meals because the supply clerk wasn't interested in being faced with problems.

I'm not the world's greatest expert on this subject, but my understanding of the matter is that even if only your mother is Jewish, you are entitled under Jewish law to consider yourself Jewish, and other Jews will accept you as such. If you decide to adopt another religion, then you have renounced Judaism, and other Jews will acknowledge that you are not Jewish. However, should you ever wish to renounce that other religion, and once again declare yourself Jewish, you are once again Jewish.
Although some Reform Jews are re-examining this issue, none of the above would apply if only your father were Jewish. You could not simply decide that you were Jewish and be accepted by most of the Jewish community. You would need to undergo a formal conversion process prescribed by Jewish law.

Another observation for you: I rarely see your posts. Whenever I do, I do read them as they provide amusement that enriches my life. This discourse is amusing to me, and therefore enriching. Your posts are easily categorized:

I did get that point; I just didn't directly address it. So, to address what I thought was obvious: You found it ironic that I find the thread boring but yet post so often on the thread anyway. What you missed: you AGREED that it was boring (I don't have your words anymore; you snipped them), but yet you post often AS WELL.
I don't find the thread boring. I realize now that:
posting responses to idiots (not a reference to you, BTW) who, after multiple angles and viewpoints have been discussed and rehashed and everyone agrees to disagree or simply just stops, insist that they have solved the whole issue and cite "new" evidence that are actually observations made long ago. THAT is what I referred to as boring.
I used to care that some people joined the discussion after it was basically over and didn't have the benefit of reading anything from the previous weeks. So, I would respond to them. Now, I find it boring to explain things again, so I just, if anything, tell them that the points they brought up have already been discussed.
What I find really ironic is that you seem so irritated at my writings but yet read them all apparently. You find me tiresome, but yet the majority of YOUR posts on the thread are direct responses to my posts. If you find me or the thread so boring, tiring, and/or offensive, then what compels you to read them? You must know my handle by now; when you see it, don't read my post then.

Can't see why. I know people who spit every time they see a Japanese car, and won't drive anything not Cadillac. Their style makes "Easy Rider" look like a glam party for fashion designers, but that's another story. The point, if there is one, is that you don't have to be Jewish to hate German cars.

George is Catholic (I don't remember which variety). Recall when George converted to another faith to win ove his new girlfriend. He asked for an "express conversion." A friend of his parents saw a notice on the church sign that George was being converted, and his parents weren't pleased to say the least. Their particular denomination was mentioned in the dialog.
Another clue is that he's Italian.
