I have some questions

I have not been a Seinfeld fan until recently when I am catching the shows in reruns. I saw a show two nights ago, and it really confused me.

• When did Jerry and Elaine date, and why did they stop dating?

• Why were George and Susan engaged if George didn't like her?

Jerry and Elaine dated before the show started. When she was first introduced as a character, they had already dated, stopped dating, and were friends.

George did like Susan. He got engaged when he started worrying about growing old alone (I think that's it, someone will correct me if I have it slightly wrong). He and Jerry were supposedly going to get engaged at the same time. But Jerry changed his mind after George had already gone and done it. Then once George got engaged and started living with Susan, he started feeling trapped and wanted out.

jerry and elaine dated early in the episodes but as far as george and susan. george basically had and overwelmingg feeling that he needed to get married. and he went down to the peer and saw everyone around him in love(just excactly like jerry did in the season finale) and ran home and asked her to marry him then spent the rest of the time trying get out of it
