Disappointed with 2/20 show

I'm a fan who has liked even this season so far, but . . . . .tonight there were some biggish problems, I think. Especially disappointing because Seinfeld told ET that he was particularly proud of this script.

I bought: Elaine taking up residence in 2Q to get the Chinese food delivery and being mistaken for the janitor, Kramer making wider highway lanes, Jerry not being able to kiss his girlfriend after she brushed her teeth with a brush that had fallen in the toilet, George losing his Phil Rizzuto key chain in the paved-over pothole.

I didn't buy--even in the show's normally crazy logic system-- that Jerry would toss out everything in his apartment because his girlfriend put something of his in the toilet.

And I thought Newman getting burned and screaming in pain, not once but three times, wasn't funny no matter what angle you looked at it from.

I'm a big Seinfeld fan, and ,IMO I didn't like the ending either. Kramer's character has always been that of a guy who is loyal to his friends and always trying to help people out, e.g. the pinky toe, giving the bum the food (who eventually kept the tupperware)as George says, he's Batman. And for him to tear off down the highway leaving Newman after he was a human shish-kabob, seemed out of character for Kramer. Although I thought the scene of him driving the car and painting the lines was the funniest in the whole episode.

Neurotic people don't have normal people's logics. Do you really think people in this real world would what Kramer does on the show? Would you fly to anoterh city just to speak out your retort? Why do yu find them funny then?

I hate to admit it but I agree... and maybe it was *because* of Jerry's saying it was by far the best episode that I was also disappointed---not that I didn't think it was funny, but it wasn't the funniEST...

I really wish they had done something different with this... Kramer didn't even notice that his buddy was injured...c'mon!!....

But it was the funniest THIS season. I know, that's not saying much since this season has been pure crap compared to the "great" episodes of seasons past. Maybe, this was funnier than everything else this season because of new writers doing this one.

The best thing about this episode was it had Kristin Davis....... Northern California's Goofy.......gawrsh !!

Yes, some of it was really annoying, but I thought the Phil Rozzotto key chain screaming Holy Cow at that particular moment was hilarious and the four of them in the janitor's closet was unbelievably entertaining. After Reading Through the many postings about the 2/20 Episode, I have to say that I think everyone is overanalyzing this... Let me say, that I am an AVID reader of the newsgroup, but I don't usually post...it seems someone always says what I would've said, and why be redundant? However, In this case, I have to say a few things. 1) As far as the episode being a "classic", how can you judge a "classic" immediately after it is shown? Wait a few months, then watch it again...Then form an opinion. As the case with many things, you can't appreciate it them until afterward...it takes awhile to sink in. 2) As for the plot lines overall, I agree that they are somewhat ludicrous, but I think the plot lines have always been pretty crazy...that's one of the things I love about it. 3) Don't be so hard on them, I agree with the post about unconditional love, I love the show, it makes me laugh, and makes me think about some of the stupid shit that goes on...It's good. 4) As for Jerry's career (on the show), I was under the assumption that they are trying to make it seem like his comedy career is not going well...they have mentioned it on 3 episodes so far.

I am a Seinfeld Fan, I know everyone on this group is, also...just watch and enjoy..we only have one more season...

C'mon don't you think it was funny when Kramer painted over the lines on the expressway...I have to admit that the Elaine story was very lame...also the last three episodes lack the trademark killer ending

The absurdity of both scenes is what made them the funniest parts of the entire show!

I realize that humor is elusive--that people find humor in vastly disparate topics and scenes. I also realize that "Seinfeld" is only a TV show and that what is shown as happening to the characters who inhabit it is not real. Still, I welcome these characters into my home each week, and have grown fond of them--or I wouldn't continue to invite them back. It's disconcerting to see any of them being incinerated. If there is humor here I fail to perceive it. And I'm kind of relieved that I don't. It suggests to me that the profusion of brutality so commonly displayed on has not yet succeeded in rendering me insensitive to others' pain--even when only depicted. Ariosa

Don't take Newman's hot touche too seriously. It made a lot of people uncomfortable, including Newman, but that's the point. (look at all the discussion about it)

Now if I only knew where I could get a keychain like George's. What street was that?

One obvious point that hasn't been mentioned as that Jerry Seinfeld is, in fact, Jerry Seinfeld, thus lending more than a modicum of "realism" to the show. Perhaps people would havebeen more offended had Jerry been incinerated?
