"THE MILLENIUM"- NOT BAD, BUT NOT FUNNY EITHER

It's me again, the guy who hates the new Seinfeld episodes. Thursday's "The Mellinium" wasn't horrible, it just wasn't funny. The Jerry plot line had some creativity, but I didn't laugh at it once because there was no big payoff, no big laughs. George's plot line also could have been a classic, but it got real old fast. Elaine's thing lingered on too long without any major laughs. Kramer's mellinum party wasn't a bad idea, but it never was funny. And why did Jerry say Newman's party would be LATE? If anything, it would be EARLY if the mellinum isn't till 2001!!!

I also felt the show was a bit outlandish. George has been at the Yankees for years, why did the writers feel that setting up a plot line about George leaving the Yankees would be funny? I feel I speak for allot of people when I say that I would rather George stay at the Yankees and continue his antics. Jerry's girlfriend didn't seem to have a brain, nor did her step mother. I hope that the show will try to bring in some more realistic sub-characters in the future.

I give this episode a rating of 5.3 out of 10.

It wasn't brilliant, but it had it's moments. I especially liked the Mets executives taking George to lunch--at the coffee shop! Couldn't they spring for a nice restaurant? And why would they take George to a coffee shop on the West Side of Manhattan when the Mets' offices are in Queens and the Yankees' offices are in The Bronx? It's little details like this that make every episode of "Seinfeld" the unusual treat that it is.

I also liked "Body Suit Man," especially when Steinbrenner was bawling George out and said, "I can't believe that you, Body Suit Man, would do something like this!" (Quoted from memory, not verbatim, but you get the idea.)

It wasn't that part that was funny, it was how he wanted to go out with a bang.

I give it a 1. I laughed about three times.

For the record, this was the only episode this season that I haven't liked at all. But that doesn't mean I'm going to start spitting all over the rest of the season.
