I know there are more instances, but the two that specifically come to mind are (1) the time he was smackin' his lips and eyeballin' Kramer after Kramer had basted in butter on the roof, and (2) when Kramer reversed his peephole and Newman peeked in at him making this "mmmm" noise.

That's because he read the book "Alive" while Kramer was basting himself in butter. Newman is just a pig, and not real picky about what he eats. Besides, Newman's in love with Elaine.

O, think about it for a minute, i understand that the butter insidant is just because newman is a fat ass, but what about the time Kramer reversed his pep hole and told newman that he was going to get dressed and newman went to watch it? Does that count for anything?? Also you never see Newman accually making out with a girl or talking about making out with one. To top that off i would like to respond to Newmans "Undying love towards Elain" as i recall in the episode when Puddy had the fur coat and then elain threw it out the window and Newman found it, when she started talking sexy to him, he did not give it back, he prefered the coat, which only a fag would like, over his "Undying love toward Elain"? I've already pointed out two, myself. Even though someone tried to explain away the "basted Kramer" incident, it still offers no satisfaction.
The butter may have acted as the trigger, but Newman _wanted_ Kramer. He was also aroused by watching Kramer through the peephole. Even made the "mmmmmmm" sound. Gave me the willies, it did.
Now, I know there have been a couple of other incidents like these two. I just can't remember them right off the top of my head.
Hey, wait a minute . . . wasn't there an incident with Jerry, also? The night that Kramer and Newman were in his bedroom while he was asleep? Jerry woke up, something was said, Kramer started to leave but Newman hesitated and kind of "checked Jerry out" before leaving himself.

Just saw the Peephole rerun last night. Newman told Kramer he better get dressed, after Kramer, in his bathrobe and underwear, started to go with Newman to see the "super"--my understanding was that Kramer went inside to throw on his pants and a shirt--hardly an enticing opportunity to view skin. Newman peeked just to see how reversing the peephole worked, IMHO. However, I have found several episodes tiptoeing toward gay themes and or behavior involving the main characters just to push the envelope, and possibly, tweak the execs at NBC. alt showbiz gossip
