I caught this on the Blooper Tape as well and wondered if it had
been included in the original show and been taken out in syndication
cuts, or if it had just been a blooper that was never aired. Micheal
Richards said the exact same line in the movie UHF.
A bit off topic, but what are your favorite moments in original
airings of Seinfeld that didn't make it to syndication? Mine would have
to be in The Strongbox where Kramer is listing the items he keeps in his
box and mentions taxidermy that had been in his family for generations.
I can't believe they cut that line!

Jerry woke up laughing in his sleep while dreaming about a funny story. He wrote it down and spent the rest of the ep with him (and the gang) trying to interpret what he had written and why it was so funny.

Maybe the entire final episode was just a really long dream. Remember, Kramer was asleep on the airplane.

I think something similar happened more recently. On ...Married With Children, didn't an entire season turn out to be Al's dream/nightmare? Katie Sagal was expecting in real life, so her pregnancy was written into the show. Unfortunately, Katie miscarried. The producers (to their credit) were not about to make her continue the make-believe pregnancy and then have to handle a new-born on the show after such a personal tragedy. So they pulled a "Dallas," and presto---it never happened.
