She ranked Number Two in the ratings this week, behind Seinfeld. Which is the point. The audience was already tuned in, but they aren't going to fall for it a second time.

"Number Two"? Highly appropriate (regarding the bodily function which doesn't stink nearly as badly as the show)

I must admit, I had high hopes, from seeing how funny Brooke was on the Friends' episode, but after watching it, I'm afraid that I would have to agree with you, to a point.

I felt that Brooke was trying too hard. I'm willing to give the show a break, though, because I remember watching the first episode of Seinfeld (k.a. The Seinfeld Chronicles) and saying, "Well, I like Jerry Seinfeld's humor, but this show needs some work. It could be funny, though, given time."

I remember thinking that I wasn't laughing much, either, at some of the stuff they were obviously trying to get us to laugh at.

Not a complete loss, but could use a lot of work.

I laughed once...at the scene where Brooke and her girlfriend were the only two women in a bar in San Francisco that was full of men who were supposedly heterosexual. THAT'S funny! :-)
