why is George so afraid of Elaine?

because elaine has a tendency to get very hostile towards george.. (he can be quite annoying) and when elaine gets annoyed and loses her temper, she tends to get violent. (this was illustrated in the episodes you watched... there's really no deep underlying explanation for it.) -jamie

I always felt that It's because George thinks Elane thinks He is a jerk,Which she does. And no man wants a woman to think he's a jerk. So George tries not to be a jerk around Elaine, But it comes out looking like fear. The only stupid question is one asked by a stupid person.

I'll say it is just because Elaine is scary. She gets mad easily and is willing to resort to physical violence. Don't get me wrong I love Elaine, but I wouldn't want to get on her bad side. And George having an unusually strong sense of survival feels the same way, he knows who is meaner and tougher between him and Elaine and so he is naturally a little afraid of her. Even Jerry from time to time has demonstrated fear of Elaine.
