Also, isn't it ironic that Elaine yells at George about his new hairpiece, but then we see Julia Louis-Dreyfus doing Clairol hair coloring ads???

Julia is an actor who does commercials for Clairol.

I *love* Elaine. Julia, I know nothing about except she married that guy from SNL.

Aside from the fact that Elaine is not the one using Clairol - Julia Louise Dreyfus is, I would say that while Julia's hair looks natural, George's toupee definitely looked like a toupee. She is simply trying to save him from embarassment and public ridicule.

Perhaps in light of last night's show (Feb 16), the person who cut down irony-watch's point is biting her/his tongue. When Elaine leaves Wendy the physical therapist's office, her pinched nerve untreated, her only and ultimate form of revenge is to tell Wendy how awful her "old fashioned" hair style looks. It would be hard to imagine *not* seeing a whole episode on Elaine's feelings toward a friend's hair in light of those Clairol commercials. OF COURSE they play off each other. And in anticipation of the kind of stupid comment that came up in the discussion of Elaine's probable condom use ("this is a TV show, not real life"), just watch that Clairol commercial again and say it isn't Elaine (not Julia-Louis Dreyfus) washing that woman's hair. We're on a NY City bus, she's wearing Elainish clothes, to start stating the obvious. Beyond that, I don't see how any Seinfeld fan could say that the show makes hard distinctions between "reality" and Seinfeld. Start with the name of the show, and then think back to the envelopes within envelopes of the show "Jerry." And now that each of the four principals is endorsing at least one product, each on their own, how can one really believe that those Clairol and pretzel and AmEx and Pepsi commercials aren't a part of the show itself?

I venture that last night's episode is *all about* the Clairol commercial.

We see Lanie's hair completely down a few times: check out The Opposite, for sure, but also the scene in which she plays the porn star for Kramer's camera--Jerry's the director, George plays the airline pilot (while orderning his hair cream from China). The hair in this scene is down, wet, and very REFRESHING. Bob Hate ................no man's friend........................
