okay, i know i probably smoke too much pot and watch way too much seinfeld... but... i have a question for the hardcore sein fans among you...

can someone explain the layout of jerry's apartment in context to two areas...

#1 as you come down the hallway to jerry's apartment, it looks as if the hall is a straight shot... but as you come in jerry's apartment, the kitchen is extended into the hallway from my perspective... ideas?

#2 in the chicken roaster episode, we see kenny roger's chicken roasters sign shining in kramer's window... in jerry's apartment, directly across from kramer's, we can see the street... obviously, the windows are not side by side, but both face a street... city blocks are more than two qpartments wide, so the street behind the apartment would be little more than an alley... so exactly what is the geography of the neghborhood in relation to window placement within the set?

as i said before, i know that i wacth WAY TOO MUCH seinfeld to be noticing stuff like this, but what the hell... got a lot of time on my hands...

I have not noticed this. Fridge is on the same wall as the door with a trash can next to the fridge by the door. I do not remember a "cut in".

Jerry and Kramer are at the end of the hall. Apparently the window are on the wall perpendicular, not parallel to the door. And you can see that is true in Jerry's apartment. Therfore Jerry and Kramer's windows could both be looking out onto the same street.

Maybe it's the way that the door is at an angle that's confusing you.

I agree with this layout, but that conflicts with what we see outside. The door to the apartment seems to be aligned with the wall of the hallway, which appears to be straight. But with this layout, the door should appear diagonal, at a 45 degree angle from the wall on each side. Instead, it appears aligned with one wall, and at a 90 degree angle from the end of the hallway.

finally.. i thought no one was even remotely interested in my examination of the excruciating minutiae of jerry's world... has anyone ever noticed the camera never follows them from the hall into the apartment? it always cuts from the entering to the living room.. i agree with emile, it should be at least on a 45 degree angle for the kitchen...
