Viewers discuss missed opportunities in the finale, particularly about the Vandelay name coincidence and judge's involvement, with mixed reactions to the trial resolution.
Watching it again, I thought of a few things I didn't the first time.
1) It really should have come out in the trial that George used Judge Vandelay's name. They set that up and then didn't go anywhere with it. It would have been great if the judge was about to let them go, then screwed them when he learned that George had been impersonating him.
2) I guess Big Stein had Mr. Wilhelm rescued from the carpet cleaning cult, since he was there at the trial.

George didn't use the judge's name nor did he ever impersonate the judge. He invented the name and it just happened to be the judge's name. I don't think it was a set-up at all. It was just funny. In fact, when they announced the judge's name it was the ONLY time during the show that I laughed out loud.
