Fans praise the Wig Master episode for its humor and creative absurdity, with debate over whether contrivance matters if jokes land well.
I was just looking through my recorded episodes of Seinfeld and watched the one where Kramer gets arrested for being a pimp.
This one cracks me up! At the end with the mugshot:
"Alright Big Daddy, turn to your right!.....I said TURN PIMP!"
"I'm NOT A PIMP!!!!"

That was a good one. Hmmmm. Ya know, if the same exact plot were to happen during this season, people would bitch and moan about how contrived it was for Kramer to get the coat, the cane, and the hat, and to be seen pulling a hooker out of a Caddy. "It's just not believable. It was the worst ever. Kramer's antics aren't as funny as they used to be. The writing this season sucks." Yadda yadda yadda.
It takes a combination of things to make a bad episode. Contrivance in and of itself will not sink it. If it works, I don't care how contrived it is. Personally I like that episode. As crazy and stupid as it is, it was funny. It also wrapped things up in a nice way at the end.
On the other hand, "The Blood" seemed rushed and slapped together. Some promising ideas with bad execution, thrown into a pile and hoping no one would notice. The pacing was terrible. The whole show felt like it was being played at double speed, no time to let things develop in a natural way and let the viewer digest what was going on.
And let's put things in perspective. Using a cane and wanting to wear the technicolor dreamcoat, while certainly not mainstream, doesn't compare to what we're supposed to believe in "The Blood." But like I said, its not the contrivance alone that kills an ep.

Hey Frasier and Spin City are funny shows too. Is it just me or is the sitcom getting worse. Call it being stuck in the past but the popular sitcoms even the ones I watch like Friends just don't hack it like Cheers or even Roseanne. Long live the SEIN!

It's entirely conceivable that there are episodes you didn't care for. But don't go telling me what I find funny and what I don't. I'm an American and I'm used to voicing my own opinion, not having one thrust towards me.
This is certainly your opinion, and you're entitled to say what you want. Personally, I see the same high quality comedy from season 9 as I did from season 4.
I've grown quite weary of explaining myself to people who shouldn't even be worth the time it takes to respond to a post. You like the old episodes? Watch them and shut the hell up. Thanks.
And as soon as a "sucky" episode makes it on TV, I'll be sure to mention it. So far, it hasn't happened yet.
Good answer. Whatever posesses these people to INSIST that they are correct about the supposed decline in Seinfeld quality, and then not to rest until they've convinced everyone that their opinion is correct is beyond me.
Now you sound more like a crackpot who's opinion is to be ignored. How you can even compare a TV show with your socio-political argument is also beyong my comprehension.
Why would you love to hear it? So you can proceed to trash another of my posts? Whatever. My "least enjoyed" episode was the very first one. Didn't know who the characters were. Nothing at all happened. No Elaine. No Monks. No Newman. No Seinfelds or Costanzas. If not for the historical fact that it weas the very first one, it was entirely forgetable.
