I think the farmer daughter got it wrong. She wasn't with him long enough to get his right name.

Me too. She most definitely got the name wrong. She said Norman, but this was just a "bastardization" of the name Newman. I like the mystique of not knowing his first name. In fact, I wish we could go back to the good ole days of not knowing Kramer's first name too.

i also think the farm girl didnt know his name, but the extremely weird thing is that theres a person that me and my best friend know called norman and for the longest time weve been calling him newman and doing the whole 'hello newman' thing whenever we see him, consequently this scene was extremely hilarious to us
