Kramer Climbed Mt Everest

I Recently saw a 25 year old clip of the Dating Game with Michael Richards as a contestant. The Host Jim Lange stated in the contestant intros that M.R. had climbed Mt Everest and had broken his leg in the process. Can anyone substantiate this? Does anyone know if he ever broke his leg..?
