Is Kramer leaving the show?

So when Kramer went to Hollywood and got a job on the Murphy Brown show (as Murphy's secretary), does that mean we'll never see Kramer again on Seinfeld?

My favorite scene is Jerry's chess game with himself where he's dressed symbolically as a brain and a penis.

I wasn't kidding. They really played it like Kramer was moving out of NYC for good on that show -- then they went into reruns for the summer. I know the running gag about MB's secretary, but that doesn't mean Kramer's character isn't being given the heave-ho. Can someone post something definitive on this burning issue of the day?

Come on. Haven't you heard of a season cliff hanger before....

I realize that this is nothing definitive, but I heard that Kramer was leaving the show and is going to CBS, not to be on M. Brown, but rather to start his own show. If this is true, we'll all miss him on Seinfeld, but will get to see even more of him on his show.

Well, I don't know if this means anything but I saw Jerry do live standup here in Boston in early May just after the season finale (I think...) and many, *many* folks in the audience asked about Kramer (Jerry was great: "Look, folks, let me explain how this works. Kramer is not here. *I* am here. Me. Not Kramer. Me." :-) and if he was coming back, and Jerry said:

Yes, he's coming back.

For whatever it's worth. BTW, Jerry was great live: he did a few things I'd heard before, and some of the lines of his gags I'd heard from the short intros to The Seinfeld Show, but most of it was new (and I've also seen him on HBO, etc.) He took questions at the end and he was really good with the audience interaction. Go see him if you get the chance...

I just saw Seinfeld (standup) here in Buffalo last week and his comment was "well the first thing we gotta do next season is get Kramer back." I don't think Kramer's quite big enough to have his own show yet anyway.

I saw Jerry Seinfeld in Denver 3 weeks ago (excellent performance, by the way). Someone shouted from the audience, "Is Kramer really leaving the show?" Jerry's answer was no, he's not leaving the show. Hope you can rest easier now.

Obligatory favorite line: The Keith Hernandez episode when Jerry is asking Elaine about her date with Keith. She says, "Did we have what.......milk?" The way she says "milk" just cracks me up.

Favorite episode: When Jerry and Elaine visit his parents and Elaine is trying to sleep on the hide-a-bed with the bar in her back and no air conditioning.
