Okay... Personally, I don't have a *favorite* line of all time. I love the show, I love the characters, but I can't say that I have a favorite line off all time. Same with episodes. I don't have an absolute favorite. They're all so good that it's hard to say that *this* particular one is better than the others. *Some* of my favorite lines/exchanges are:

Kramer: The water's gonna get up to 120 degrees! George: 120? Is that tolerable? Kramer: Oh, it's tolerable!

Just about every line that starts with 'Oh,' is great. The first
time I noticed it was in the bubble boy episode. Jerry and Elaine are
at the diner and she just orders water. He says that she can't: "This
isn't like a park bench where you just come and sit down, it's a
business." Then, the waitress recognizes him: "Gary Sein-field!" and
he says that he doesn't have any pictures to autograph. Elaine says
there are and goes to the car to get them. Jerry watches her go and
then orders her a cup of coffee and a broiled chicken. She comes back
in with the last picture and asks where her water is. Jerry looks up
from the autograph he's giving and says: Oh, it's comin'. Great!!
Kramer does it the most. He starts just about everything with
"Oh," hehe! I don't know if I've ever heard Elaine say it. Hmmm...

More of the favorites:

George: Oh, it's got casam, baby! It's got casam up the ying-yang!

Jerry: And we discover yet another talent: posing as a girlfriend for homosexuals.

Jerry: It's the perfect plan: so inspired, so devious, yet so simple. George: This is what I do.

Jerry: Boy knowing you is like going into the jungle: I never know what I'm gonna find next, and I'm real scared.

Jerry: So lemmie get this straight: you find yourself in the kitchen. You see an eclair in the recepticle, and you think to yourself: 'What the hell, I'll just eat some trash.'

Jerry: You broke up with a woman because she beat you at chess? That's pretty sick.

George: Yeah, it's George....ppbbtt...I got nothing to say.

Elaine: Something horrible is going to happen to you someday. It HAS to!! Jerry: Nope, I'm gonna be just fine...

Jerry: K-K-Kramer, what is that?? Kramer: What? Jerry: That puddle on my sofa!! Kramer: What puddle? Jerry: That puddle!! Kramer: Bbbbbppppbbbb! (It's impossible to recreate that sound!) I dunno! Jerry: Is it? Could it? C-Could he have? It is!! Poppy peed on my sofa!!

Kramer: I thought Jerry didn't want that couch because of the stain. Frank Costanza: What stain? Kramer: Oh you didn't notice? It has a PEE stain. Frank (to George): You had me sleeping on a pee-stained couch? George: No...no...the coushin was turned over. Frank: But the very idea! You had me lying in urine!!

And now we come to one of the greatest lines in all of human history. This is from the episode where Jerry is dating the Miss America contestant and Elaine is trying to buy Mr. Pitt a pair of socks. Both George and Jerry say it, Jerry's is in retalitaion for George saying it. Allow me to set the scene... Jerry has poured a bucket of water on Miss Rhode Island doves, ("Oh that! We uh....we had to leave that outside last night because the water was makin' the room too cold.") killing them. Her talent was magic and they were central to her act. So, she ends up singing ("But I've never sung before in my life!"). Jerry and George are watching the padgent from their hotel room.

TV (Singing): ...there are pEEople meeting people...and a feeling of spring in the air... Jerry: Boy I heard those doves were really incredible. George: That's a shame. (And right before he says this he sniffs a little and, for some reason, really adds to the effect of the line) Jerry: It's like watching an animal get tortured. [Both watch for a few moments more] George: Hey hey! Yankee game! Jerry: Okay! All right! TV: (Announcer 1)-And the Yankees take the field. (Announcer 2)-And what is with the Yankees? They're having trouble running. They can't move. 1-It's their uniforms: they've shrunk. They're running like penguins! Forget this game. 2-Oh my god, Mattingly just split his pants! Jerry: Ahh, that's a shame.

Yes! And both of them say it in such a way that it's perfect!! Perfect! I go around saying that all the time. It's great! (Am I a weirdo or what? :) ) I believe it's been used on the show 3 other times. Once, Jerry says it in the episode where Kramer's first name is revealed:

George: What happened to Babs? She didn't show up, the whole thing blew up in my face. Jerry: That's a shame.

Once when Kramer's driving the end of the firetruck and you hear an accident and then static on the CB that Jerry's listening to, and one time in Korean when Elaine tells the Korean manicurists that she got thrown off the bus because she didn't have correct change. They say it in Korean so that she can't understand. Also from that episode:

Frank: Her father would look at me and say: 'E-know E-now-ah Shee-yo,' which means: This guy....this is not my kinda guy...

Great line. Okay, that's about it. Gotta get some shut eye. Sorry to go on for so long like that but I love them quotes. Any one want's some more, just let me know. I'm also starting a wav collection of them and I record them myself so if anyone wants any, and I have the episode on tape I'll be glad to send you some. Oh, and my email address is [email] this one I just use because I can read the newsgroups from here. I just recently started reading this newsgroup and this is my first entry. Let me know what you think! (And please, I already know that I'm pretty weird so you don't have to tell me. ;) ) Thanks!

Rob :)

Hey, Don! Enjoyed your post. I completely agree with the sentiments you expressed in regard to "That's a shame."

I think George said "cachet" not casam...what the hell is casam? A cachet (it is a noun) is a characteristic feature that confers prestige or distinction or inspires respect.

As an aside--ying yang? Who's ever said that on the show? Still, very funny!!
